On Friday, 9th May 2025, the Estate Agents Registration Board held the first induction ceremony of the year for the April 2025 interviews cohort. 80 applicants from these interviews were successfully registered and are now fully inducted into the board.
The Board Chairperson, Ms. Eunice Macharia, during the Induction ceremony, congratulated these new members, urging them to uphold the profession and be good ambassadors to the Board. Ms Macharia also mentioned the board’s expectations towards the members, which include timely annual renewal of their licenses and submission of their Professional Indemnity Cover and Accountant’s Certificate. She also spoke about the board’s collaboration with the Financial Reporting Centre, whereby all Registered Estate Agents must register themselves with the center in compliance with the Proceeds of Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2009 (POCAMLA).
Other key areas covered during the ceremony by EARB Vice chairperson, Mr. Stephen Omengo, and Board Members, Mr. Cornelius Kimuyu and Mr. Ayub Naburi include: Legal Issues Estate Agents Encounter, Ethics for Real Estate Agents, Disciplinary Proceedings, and EARB Calendar of Events. The board Registrar, Ms. Hellen M. Abuya was in attendance as well.
